Tetanus / Diphtheria / Polio (Td/IPV) booster
A 10-year booster is standard and covers the Tetanus, Diphtheria and Polio bases in one injection.
Rabies (where indicated)
Recommended for rural stays, long trips, cyclists, backpackers, children, VFR travel and anyone likely to have close animal contact. Three-dose pre-exposure schedule on days 0, 7 and 21-28 (UK Green Book). Pharmacies cannot administer post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) - if bitten or scratched abroad, wash the wound thoroughly and go straight to A&E, NHS 111 or a local hospital.
Hepatitis B
Three-dose course (0, 1, 6 months); for long stays, medical/dental work, tattoos or new partners abroad.
